Obituary for Cathy Gay Kaplan

Lancaster- Cathy Kaplan, a long-time resident of the Antelope Valley, passed away Wednesday the 31st of May in the home of her family.

Born in 1951 in Santa Monica, CA, Cathy loved the beach and graduated from Venice High School. After starting her family in California, she moved to Oregon for several years, later returning to California to reside in the Antelope Valley. Cathy worked as a payroll clerk for Westside Union School District for over 20 years.

She leaves a legacy of compassion for people, a zest for finding joy in the simple things, as well as a true appreciation for sarcasm. She loved entertaining; from large barbeques to small get-togethers. She provided immeasurable love to both her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Linda Raftery (husband Jim), brother John Kaplan (wife Debbie), nephews Jimmy Raftery and Kyle Kaplan, sons Jubal Stokes (wife Marianne) and Andy Rosales (wife Karen), daughter Carrie Rudsell (husband Jay), and several nephews, grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
