Obituary for Frank J Rustuen

Frank J Rustuen
Frank J. Rustuen passed away February 27th at the age of 93.
Frank is survived by his brother Iver & Mary Rustuen of Long Beach Ca, son John & Cindy Rustuen of Rosamond Ca, daughter Cherie & Phillip Robbins of Lowell Arkansas. Grandchildren Monique Rustuen of Littlerock Ca, Travis & Kristina Rustuen of Rosamond Ca, Cody Rustuen and Kaitlynn Regan of Hawthorn Ca, Thad Hill of Lancaster Ca, Charles Robbins from Lowell Arkansas. Great grandchildren Brianna, Annabelle, Victoria, Jade, Evan, Hailey, Bailey, and Madison. Nieces Sandra Smith & Ruth Carver of Washington, Robbie Rustuen & Becky Rustuen of Long Beach Ca. Cousins Agnes Armstrong of Flathead Lake Montana, and Rita Feyk of Spokane Wa.
Frank was proceeded in death by his parents Henry & Ruby Rustuen of Montana, wife Lorraine Rustuen of Rosamond Ca, daughter Carla, granddaughter Jamie, and brother Ernest Rustuen of Seattle Wa
Frank was born January 28th 1925 in Lewistown Montana on the farm his dad Henry and mother Ruby homesteaded. He graduated High School in Lewistown, and worked on the farm. Frank served in the army during WWII and did tours in the Philippines and Japan. After moving to Seattle he began work at Boeing Aircraft, met then married Lorraine Hamel, had 2 children John & Cherie. Aerospace brought him to United Airlines in the San Francisco area then to Lancaster Ca, where he retired.
They say you can never get the farm out of your system, this was true with Frank in that he moved to Idaho twice to work as a farmer, and his loving wife packed up the family and helped him pursue his dream.
Frank was always a member of the Masonic Lodge and helped mentor young men in the DeMolays who referred to him as “Dad Rustuen”, Frank and Lorraine chaperoned the Rainbow girls, Job daughters, and DeMolay activities.
Once retired he volunteered for meals on wheels to the seniors and disabled, babysat his grandkids, and took wonderful care of his wife who was in declining health.
He will always be remembered for being an honest man, with the “Rustuen” ornery streak, those that knew him noticed he didn’t say much, but when he did it was profound.
Frank is now reunited with the love of his life, in the kingdom of the Lord.
